growing up

My sister, Alyssa, took this picture yesterday and when I saw it on Instagram I had to do a double take. Not only is my nephew a mini-me of his dad, but I forget (since I see him almost daily) how he is slowly transitioning out of a baby and into a little boy.

Although Mike and I don't have any babies yet, watching James grow up literally in front of my eyes has made me realize that when our time does come to cherish every moment, good or bad, because despite what we want, our babies grow up and one day have babies of their own. :)

Even though the circle of life is a beautiful thing, it's definitely a fast one.
