staying hydrated

As exciting as pools are, apparently lawnmowers take the cake.

I love these two so.

Staying hydrated.  I'm so grateful this boy takes after his dad and is constantly thirsty because me?  I only wish I could drink half as much as they do.

Raise your hand if you love your Nanny!

28 weeks marks the start of the nursery

Poor babe ... I have taken barely any 'bump' pictures, so while relaxing and watching him have a dance party in my belly, I decided to snap one.

Bless my loving husband.  Since I can't really paint while pregs, he has the lovely task of doing it for us.  This dresser is actually going in Declyn's closet, but I've been wanting to paint it.  Its original color matches the dresser on the right.  However, I took a drawer form Dec's current dresser and had the paint matched at Home Depot.  I still have to put the original knobs back on, but it turned out beautifully.

I found this image on the internet and immediately became obsessed with it :

Poor Mike had to paint the nursery wall white twice, then I taped it off and he had to then paint the wall navy ... twice.  Regardless, I am in love.
[in person the wall is legit navy blue, but the pretty little filter I put on this image gives it a different color]

Now I can.not.wait to continue decorating our little guy's nursery!

big sticks & happy dogs

Saturday was rainy / overcast, so we decided to work on some home projects.  Declyn didn't mind 'driving' the Home Depot shopping cart ... until he did.

Taking a break from hiking.  The girls were exhausted, but little dude was perfectly content --- probably because he had insisted on being carried 80% of the time up until this point.  Luckily this changed and he actually wanted to be down, running around.  At one point he was even insistent on walking Fenway, which was a win-win for Mike and I.

Lately he has been favoring Fenway, so it was nice to see him showing his girl Cali some love.

No joke he found the biggest stick he could and drug it for as long as his little arms would let him.

Post-hike snacks and cool down.  I love how focused Fen and Dec are, while Cal is just all smiles.

I spy with my little eye

Tiny feet are the best, especially when they're the only part sticking out.

Mike gives Declyn ice cubes, so he is constantly pulling at the freezer, trying to see what's in there and of course request some ice.  I had my back turned doing dishes and when it got quiet, I knew he was up to something.  Sure enough, I turned around and saw that he had successfully climbed inside the freezer.

morning acrobats

Oh I'm sorry, don't you start your morning off right with a few leg stretches at the kitchen table?
We do.

These dogs take more abuse (which to Declyn is just giving them love).  For some reason the angle makes Fenway look huge, when in fact she's probably the same length as Dec.

Because he is constantly pulling his diaper down, it is a must that he wears pants to nap.  Unfortunately Mike didn't get that memo and when he put him down at my parents house, my mom walked in on this.  Being the sweetheart that she is, she didn't want to wake him up, so instead she had to wait for him to wake up, knowing it wasn't going to be pretty.  When he did finally wake up she had to wash his sheet and blanket, throw away the book underneath the crib where urine had leaked and wipe down the hardwood that was sprayed with Dec's presence.

Taking a break from horse watching to look this way.

This was the result of a wonderful man who chose ice cream over bedtime for both his son and pregnant wife.  :)

cold water for a good cause

Loving a summer swim with his cousin.

Aunt Meag discovered (and snapped) this precious moment.  Apparently one of his fruit snacks had fallen down and was stuck between his floatie and his chest.  Anyone else notice James photobombing in the background?

Post-pool crashes are the best.

ALS ice bucket challenge accepted.  The saddest part of it all was Declyn watching me and when I screamed from how cold the water was, he started crying.

free tickets to the gun show

This child.  As of late, this is how he has to fall asleep -- one hand in his pants.  Unfortunately for him, Mike may or may not still possess this tendency.  Looks like he doesn't stand a chance.

This picture is one of the only ones that I can look at and see myself in.  As my mom pointed out, we had a similar head shape as babies.

Even if it's a little smirk to get me to stop taking pictures, I'll take it.

Chatting it up with the dogs during a pre-dinner swing.

I don't condone drinking and driving, but when you look this cute .... Lucky for him I caught him right after he took a sip, so technically there's no proof.

homemade haircuts

Mike gives Declyn a haircut, so to pass it on Dec brushes the dogs' hair.  This is what I like to call a two-for-one.

Little man started crying during his nap.  When I went to check on him, this was what I found.  I really do believe that Daddies can make everything right in the world, or at least my kids' dad can.  This man is remarkable.

I love when he crosses his little ankles to sleep.

Or when he uses his hand as a pillow when he sleeps.

26 weeks

My college loves wanted a belly pic, so I took a quite selfie while at my parents house.  On the left I was experimenting with a little sucking in, but on the right we were letting it all hang out.

Mike walked in on my selfie and wanted to take a no-shirt belly bares all shot.  This was the result.

tubing

For my birthday I invited a group of friends to go tubing (flat water).  Six months pregnant and sober, I still had such a fun time!

Lyss and I showing a little love to her Godson before we met up with everyone to get the par-tay started.

The family part of the group (and our loved ones, of course).

The rents watched Declyn. and this picture my dad snapped cracks me up.  I could not be more aware that Declyn appears to be larger then Molly.

noah and his ark

Letting us know there's ducks ahead.

Such a trooper.  Mike got stuck with the food bag, which meant he was the main feeder of the animals.

This place was amazing.  Not only could you feed the animals, but you could get in (most of their) cages and pet them, too.

because I'm happy

We took a day trip to the closest beach to us and Declyn was in his element.

I love this kid so.  The second his floaties went on, he was riding the water all by himself, without a care in the world.

Testing out the sand as soon as we arrived.

This about sums up the day :: nothing.but.smiles and pure happiness.

happy birthday to me

Dec helped me open presents during the family celebration of my birthday fest.

How sweet?  Mike did this all on his own.

We spent the day in Georgetown and it was honestly perfect.  I'm not sure who loved the water tunnel more -- Mike or Declyn.

I am so blessed and grateful for my little familia.
