This week Declyn has been showing interest in our house alarm key fob (I call it Daddy's car key) -- in all fairness, we stupidly kept it in our 'candy' dish, which is easily reachable for D. After dinner he decided to take it out, this time accidentally hitting the panic button. Mike immediately turned the alarm off, and we both thought nothing of it.
Fast forward ... I'm upstairs nursing Keegan and Mike is in D's bathroom while he goes potty and gets ready for bed. The doorbell rings and Mike runs downstairs to answer it. Unbeknownst to me, it's two police officers responding to the alarm. While Mike is signing their paperwork, Declyn decides to come out of the bathroom and post up at the top of the stairs (where the officers can see him). Here's the kicker -- he's butt naked with his nebulizer mask* strapped on his face while he practices his breathing. So here I am, exposed while nursing, trying to coax D into the bedroom so the officers wouldn't have to see any more crazy.
I just love that the officer wrote, 'child hit panic button.'
*he was briefly diagnosed with bronchiolitis and the peads did a treatment on him while we were there. we got to keep the mask.
Declyn loves to get on the floor on his stomach and do spins. While he was down there he stopped, pointed under the oven, and said, "Car." Turns out his police car had wandered away.
Leaving my parents house, D wanted an apple that he spotted. My mom gave it to him, telling him he could have it for breakfast the next morning. I suggested she washed it off just in case he tried to it eat on the way home. Sure enough, I was right.
I didn't have my phone on me when these two, plus Declyn, were laying head to head on the floor together. But at least I was able to catch this.
