family meals

Parker and Carson stopped by for some dinner and memories. I think we might be maxed out at the kitchen table.

I was peacefully driving, minding my own business, when I felt something hitting me in the neck. I honestly couldn't stop laughing when I realized what it was, which just prompted Keegan to continue to do it.

twinsies

When Pops emerged wearing the same colored shirt as Declyn, I couldn't not take a picture.

Or five.

eighty four years of beautiful age

This is probably one of my favorite things that she does.  When the girl needs a rest, she doesn't hesitate to take one.

Our beautiful nanny turned eighty-four and celebrate we did. First, at lunch. And then, at my parents house. There can never be too many ways to honor such a wonderful woman. And to watch her great-grandchildren help her blow out candles (and try and open her presents after convincing them to give them each their favorite colored balloon) was the sweetest.

Took love bug to the doctor's to make sure the ear grabbing, vomit and diarrhea weren't another ear infection. All clear!
Now if only those teeth will pop through so she can go back to sleeping through the night. Poor girl.

Our first babe.

swinging through life

Nothing sweeter then two boys pushing their sisters.

Kristen was snapping away when she caught these beautiful moments.

And I was able to document her trying to eat the metal.

swampy puddles

Today the weather was 65 degrees and the sun was in and out. Our backyard is a mess due to the on and off rain we'd had the last couple of days. I told Declyn to stay off of the grass while they were playing outside. He then asked if he could put on his rainbows, so I agreed.
...then they found the puddles
...then they threw the mud
...then they had the most fun afternoon full of lots and lots of laughs
(and OCD for me)

They were so covered in layers of mud that I had to run the warm water hose on them before taking them inside to get baths. And while the thought of cleaning them up gave me slight anxiety, seeing them enjoy themselves so much made me so, so happy.

a fox, a fire, and some football

That's right. It's the end of January and our tree is still up. I'm giving it until the end of the month ... I just can't yet part with our magical nightlight. Oh yeah, and this weekend morning view isn't too bad, either. ;)

Ready to see who's heading to the Super Bowl.

Adi always wants to be where the action is.

eight months young

Yay for ice cream!

This sign says it all, and describes our little lady perfectly. Adilyn brings nothings but happiness to our family, and the amount of love she has for her family already .. I can't even put into words.

Those cheeks alone. love. love. love.

home away from home

The amount of time (and money) we spend at Target officially makes it our home away from home.

The instructor took this sweet picture of the boys "helping" me during my workout.

meatball party

While upstairs in Adi's room, Declyn put her party on her and said she had to wear it for the "meatball party." (aka. dinner.)

Her love for blueberries is intense

paw patrol live

My sister in law (Mike's sister) got the boys Paw Patrol Live tickets for Christmas, and the day finally came for them to go and see the snow! (The number of times Keegan said, "go see Paw Patrol"  leading up to this day, and still currently, is insane.)

Technically this gem was taken New Year's Day, but Mike was a little delayed in showing it to me. Can you spot D's eye?

Love floor time with this girl.

The show was super entertaining, even for an adult.

And our box seats were amazing.

Even Adilyn was content with just sitting there, watching the show.

warm weather workout

Loved getting to workout with my sister in law, especially when she captured these sweet moments after class.

And this one.

Also thanks to her.

I mean .... love these so.

snowed in

We are (slowly) potty training Keegan, and being the gentlemen he is, he was insistent on still wearing his shoes (even without his pants).

As the snow came down outside, Dec wanted to have breakfast in the sled.  You know, to set the bar for the rest of the day.

Mike made the boys a snowman. Due to the type of (ice) snow it was, this was the result.

With no hill in sight, Mike did laps with the boys on the sidewalk.

(left) Mike's child : eats the snow, would stay out in the cold for hours.
(right) my child: stood in the open garage and ate snow (gathered from the five minutes he spent out there) off of his gloves. and kept telling us "so cold."

My exercise class had an online challenge since class was canceled. Apparently the tricep dips looked intriguing.

No words.

Little lady could care less about the snow, she just was happy to play with her brother.

Testing the snow.

Top left was legit her first reaction.  And it's pretty priceless.

hello, 2017

Joe captured a series of photos of Parker dancing. Declyn photobombing (while it looks like Parker is twearking) is clearly my favorite.

Ringing in the new year with this guy.

Speechless.

She's big into twirling her tongue nonstop.

I'm obsessed with this song called "Home" by Blue October. Some of my favorite lines ...

I can't wait to see what's around the corner ...
... it's the little things that make a home
like dancing in the kitchen in the pale moonlight (something we do all the time)

only care in the world is that our kids are all right
with the good Lord willing, I'll be able to say
daddy loves momma and momma loves him
tomorrow we get to do it over again

the young
and old
I'll be there to wipe your tears

happy retirement

The amount of happiness and love I have for this man can't be put into words, but I tried.

(he sent me this selfie from work and it made me cry ... tears of joy).
