Our family is growing ... we are now up to (almost) 5! On May 11 we are expecting our first little baby Fitz and we are super pumped!! :) We weren't "trying" per say, but we also weren't not trying. As Mike likes to say, "we pulled all goalies"-- super inappropriate.
So yes, we now have a 2-year old dog, 9 week pup, and a baby on the way. Life is busy, but we're extremely blessed and grateful for what we have and the countdown is on for when we get to meet our little lady / gentleman.
RayLand Baxter opened for one of our newer loves-- Grace Potter & the Nocturnals. He was surprisingly really good and I would recommend listening to one (or more) of his songs.
Auntie Lyss sent this to Mike and I the other day and I thought it was just the sweetest card. As she pointed out, it's supposed to be for once you give birth, but she liked the card too much to wait.. and I can see why. Thanks, Lyss.
Grace isn't in this picture, but the Nocturnals are. They put on such an amazing concert... one that left my back hurting a little after standing in boots for the entire show (probably my fault). They were also definitely on drugs and Mike was convinced that the pills (from a Pez dispenser) they were throwing out to the audience at the end of the show were drugs.... I still think they were just Pez's.
Something that was super neat was that the guy next to me caught a guitar pick that Grace threw out into the crowd. Let me backtrack... when I say caught, I mean Grace threw it, it landed in front of us and he tricked the couple into thinking it was somewhere else while he secretly found and pocketed it. Better luck next time, suckers (myself included).
Lyss took this picture when we announced the news to her and Denise, but I wouldn't let her post it anywhere until today.... and I made her send it to me. James was my token announcer and told everyone in my family-- Mom, Dad, Casey, Smalls, Jess, Lyss, Denise & Meagan. And I have to give the most credit to Casey... he got the shirt the fastest (about 2 minutes) and everyone else was clueless. I literally had to pretty much read the shirt to them, and even then it didn't click right away. The video we have of telling my dad is my absolute favorite, but he's a little embarrassed by it so it might take some convincing (and me figuring out how to) post it on the blog... but it would be well worth the wait.... for everyone involved.
Our first (and only sonogram thus far)-- our little peanut at about 8 weeks along! :)
