This is how this came about…
(after bath, bedtime was running late and he was tired) me: Babe, can you put him in his pajamas? I'll just stick his tie on.
[I walk in the room to just a diaper.]
OK, I think, this can be cute. I mean I was planning on a no-pants onesie anyways to show off his thighs. Because it was already past his bedtime and we didn't know how much time we had left, I just stuck the tie on his bare chest and we rolled with it.
Check out those legs. So many creases I can't even keep up.
Our blue-eyed babe.
At eight months we can't live without...
1. the sheep sleep sound for night time (and nap time) and LOTS of books to go with our routine. we started switching things up and also use this one -- it's more musically inclined.
2. our mini manic's bib started to show signs of wear and tear, so now we're onto the non-distructable bib. it's amazing.
3. we can not go anywhere without soph - but she no longer can entertain him on her own, so now we rely on our finger puppet books. I even use them when I'm changing him because he 'reads' them, babbling through his diaper change.
4. we are officially back to WubbaNub's -- I think it feels good on his teeth.
5. toys, toys and more toys. however, as many toys as we may have, he seems to favor his foam blocks (they're soft, so he chews them) and his musical table.
6. a baby monitor to watch him sleep, or in our case, scale his crib. we use this monitor, but once our next one comes along we're going to switch to Summer Infant where you can have one screen with two monitors.
7. solids -- we use the Gerber line from Target. He's now up to 3 meals a day-- yogurt in the morning and some sort of fruit/veggie in the afternoon. these spoons are great -- they turn white if the food's too hot. but my husband (and Declyn) seem to love these.
8. pajamas without feet and a nice pair of socks to go with it for bedtime.
9. a highchair for when he eats solids.
10. puffs for him to practice picking up food and feeding himself, as well as occupy him while I make a bottle, get food ready, etc. warning: in my opinion, the peach ones (although tasty) are horrible when it comes to leaving stains. he now also chows down on wagon wheels and cheese puffs (try them - they're delicious).
11. I can't believe I've never mentioned this, but our nightlight that we love.
12. a breathable blanket for nap time and night time. for these chilly nights we have been doubling up with our comfy blanket.
13. it's hard to find a good pair of shoes that his Fred Flintstone feet actually fit. so far, these (and a few other Baby Gap shoes) are the best.
14. a warm raincoat.
15. bath toys to keep him occupied.
16. a sippy cup - this kid chugs water.
17. this activity center keeps him pretty entertained, and babbling.
18. not a necessity, but a very nice bonus for parents -- a kneeler for bath time.
…let the baby-proofing begin.
