Declyn's first limo ride was to the church to watch his Aunt Meag get married. Lucky for me, I made the mistake of letting him bring a candy cane he spotted literally before we walked out the door (you know how it is, whatever it takes to keep him happy so he'll partake in his role as ring bearer). Unfortunately, those tiny candy-covered hands insisted on continually pulling on my dress, using me to move around in his seat, etc. If it wasn't for the natural folds in my dress, who knows how things would have looked walking down the aisle. (I used baby wipes - bad idea -, water and a hairdryer as soon as we got to the church, but it was a lost cause).
He was nothing but love while we waited to get started. Fifty five degrees two days after Christmas? Yes, please!
Thankfully Mike was able to get there a little early to help keep him occupied before the ceremony started.
One of my favorite pictures of these two.
The truth behind it : he was a hot mess after walking down the aisle, only wanting me, so Mike took him into the cry room of the church. Poor kid just stood at the door as crocodile tears rolled down his face until the ceremony was over. Clearly he was able to take a break at some moment to get a selfie with his dad.
I love this picture of us, but I love the little man in it more.
So blessed to be a part of this girl's wedding day. More importantly, so blessed to call her family. (both of them for that matter).
Running circles while waiting to take pictures with Meag and the bridal party. Probably one of the only good pictures I got of his pocket square that matched his bowtie.
Aside insisting on holding my bouquet, Declyn was such a ham when the photographer pulled her camera out. At one point he literally stopped, opened up his coat jacket and tried to put his hand in his pocket. Seriously?
What started at my brother's wedding, and has quickly become a tradition for us, is Meagan and I doing the infamous lift from the movie Dirty Dancing. What is also is a tradition is the epic fail that always precedes the hype that we can pull it off. Mike was able to snap a picture of the end result. My fingers are crossed that the photographers were able to get us for that less than second we were actually in the air before we crashed and burned.
