Case in point:
Both boys were sound asleep enjoying a solid nap. Simultaneously they both woke up. Keegan was all smiles, but as soon as I picked him up he was quick to let me know he was hungry (cue the cries). Declyn, on the other hand, woke up crying... (something that has been happening here and there since he started not feeling well). With Keegan on one arm, I raced upstairs to calm down Declyn.
(fast forward) Declyn was on my left arm crying, while I was nursing Keegan on my right side.
It was a moment like this when I would have loved for Mike to be home to help me calm our boys, and when a little guilt takes over that Declyn, while he is so so good about just coming up and snuggling next to me while I have Keegan - aware that I can't hold him with two arms-, is still a baby himself.
I just had to document the calm that followed the storm (below). The three of us went into my room where the sun was starting to set, and no lights were on, while I nursed Keegan and Declyn laid at my feet, slowly waking up. It was a calming moment for all of us when the bad moment had finally passed, and the good had returned.
