hello, 2014!

2013 was such an amazing year for us full of lots of goodies!  My husband started listing them off in the car the other day, and this is all I could remember (in no particular order).

1. the birth of Declyn

2. the birth of our second nephew, Brent

3. the birth of our first niece, Parker

4. moving from coast to coast

5. getting another dog (a puppy, to be exact)

6. moving into our first non-condo home

7. me adjusting to life as a stay-at-home mom

…just to name a few...

We cannot even begin to imagine what 2014 has in store for us, but regardless we are anxious to continue our journey we call our life.  Thank you, 2013.  Our wise friend Mayela said it best, "I'll always owe it to you, 2013."

This year New Year's was split between two events -- our friend's house in DC and our friend's house in Arlington.  I only remembered to document the second house.  Whoops!  Nonetheless, we still had a good time!

I have a feeling in no time this little man will be walking around the house.  He's currently testing this limits by pulling himself up, balancing with one hand, and then slowly letting that one hand go to see how long he can stand up for.  Granted it's only a second or two, but at least he knows what to do.

You know, I tried to get a nice picture of the three of us…

(Recognize Mike without his beard?  It's a rare treat, but shaving off that facial hair literally shaves off 10 years of his looks).

If Kristen ever sees this, she will kill me; but I had to.

I can't fault them, they were simply taking advantage of the fact that they had a babysitter for the night and a comfortable couch to catch some zzz's on.
