Today marks the anniversary of a day we will never, and can never, forget. 11 years ago our world was shaken with the tragic news of the terrorists attacks on our hometown. Today we honor those who courageously lost their lives for us and those who continue to fight for our freedom.
On a slightly happier note, today Fenway turns 2!!
The princess clearly knew it was her special day because she was whackier than ever (as noted below). However, she did take a moment to calm down and sprawl out before we went to the dog park and to meet Daddy!
We met Mike at Fiesta Island to let Fen run around and splash in the bay-- needless to say there were sand piles in the back of Mike's car after this little outing thanks to Fenway rolling around in the sand, then splashing in the water.
Entertaining herself in the AM.
She did take a moment to snuggle with her mommy...
...and refused to leave my side, even when I was just sitting on the couch and she was on the floor.
Hard-to-see sunset at Fiesta Island.
We stopped at PetSmart after the beach and let her pick out some new toys and treats. I also found Halloween cupcakes that I stuck a birthday candle in. The little lady was quite curious.
We started singing 'Happy Birthday' and she couldn't contain her excitement, hence the drool bubble.
Once the song was over, and she was done investigating the cupcake, I "helped" her blow it out and she went to town on her birthday cake.
