Kristen and I were the only ones around on Friday night (Hub's plane was canceled due to a storm in Dallas) so we decided to make the best of it and create a bar crawl through Gaslamp. Two rules: we couldn't go to a bar we'd already been to & nowhere with cover charges. Also, we rated each one when we left.
Whiskey Girl: not sure why we gave it the peace sign...it did have a half and half older crowd.
The Hopping Pig: loved this dive bar. met two guys who owned their own wine (plug: 7 Deadly Zins) and a boat/yacht they were sleeping in that night.
The Stage: amazing. Kristen didn't want to go into this one and we walked past it, but I reminded her of the rule she had created, so we stepped inside. upstairs: 70's cover band where we danced in the front row and even were given the mic to sings words we didn't know. downstairs: hip hop club with a dj and lots of grinding.
Vin de Syrah: alice and wonderland-themed bar with a hidden door. Kristen was convinced she knew which wall was the entrance, but as you'll see below, she was wrong. the best part was they have cameras inside so you can watch people trying to get in once you're in.
Tequila Bar: Kristen really wanted chips and salsa, which they did not have. and once she took her first sip of her drink, she was spent.
We loved our skinny girl white cosmo.
Thinking this was the entrance to the bar and you had to put your hand in the correct spot in order to enter, similar to James Bond.
Jammin' out at The Stage.
Quietly enjoying a good drink at Hopping Pig while we mingle with other bar-attendes.
Tequilla Bar-- Kristen loved this mural. Fingers crossed she replicates it on her wall at home.
My love Antonie found us and snapped a quick pic before jetting off to dance with another stander-by.
